Note Tote

I just love this quick and easy Note Tote (holds a post it note pad inside) and coordinating card! I used the Simply Said stamp set with pretty in pink and apricot appeal. Start with a 3 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock and score at 5 1/2" then 1/2" on each side of that center mark. Then fold on the score lines. Use the word window punch to create the handle for the top and use the corner rounder for the top corners. Thanks to Michelle Wooderson & Beth Silaika for this great idea!

I love this beautiful satin ribbon from the new Holiday mini catalog! I got both the purely pomegranate and chocolate. This ribbon is going to look so great on all my cards and gifts!

This is the new elastic cord in gold and silver! I can't wait to use it! I'm thinking of making some ornaments or banners with them. There are some great samples in the Holiday mini catalog!

Anniversary/Wedding Cards

So many occasions, so many possibilities! Last Saturday was my parent's 34th wedding anniversary. Can you guess what color my Mom loves? Growing up we had pink leather couches, pink bath towels, pink sheets, pink comforters, pink drapes...I think there was a pink phone somewhere in the house...so I got "pinked" out. About the only time I use pink is for my Mom. Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

My cousin got married last Saturday as well, so I toned down the pink and created this card with Baroque Motifs and the Three for You flower punch. I stamped the large swirl in certainly celery on vellum. Then, I colored the flowers from the punch and the Pretties Kit pretty in pink with a sponge dauber. I find it to be less messy than using markers or ink pads. I added some bling with a rhinestone brad and some softness with the white organdy ribbon. I found some small pink pearls and cut them in half and added them to the centers of the flowers for an elegant touch.

Quick Baby Girl Card

More babies! My college roommate had her fourth girl! She named her Kathryn! So I made a quick and simple baby girl card for her. I used the I'm Here set again with pretty in pink, certainly celery and lavender lace.

I got on a roll, so I made another baby card. This time I used bayou blue and soft sky along with some white taffeta ribbon. I love all the new ribbons!

Quick Baby Boy Card

My cousin just had her first baby, a boy. So I made a quick card to send her along with my favorite sleep book, Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Dr. Marc Weissbluth. I used two of my new stamp sets, I'm Here and Word on Word. I like the combination of the soft sky and bayou blue. I added some double-stitched ribbon to finish the card.

Ladybug Card

Here is another card that I created with the Pick a Petal stamp set. I stamped the petals in real red and then stamped the "smile" petal over the red to created the wings. To create the head and body, I punched out a 1 3/8 circle and cut it in half. The antennae is made from 2 punches from the handheld circle punch. A simple wish from Hugs & Wishes and some gingham ribbon finish the card.

Holiday Box

This is a box that we created out of one piece of cardstock at our monthly demonstrator meeting. The step-by-step directions with pictures can be found on the splitcoaststampers web site under Resources, Projects. We used The Snowflake Spot set with certainly celery and bravo burgundy to create a fun holiday look. We stamped the large snowflake in certainly celery first and rotated the stamp and stamped with bravo burgundy to create the dimensional snowflake. We added some glitter on the ends and in the middle for some bling.

This is the same box but using different colors and stamp set. I used Office Accoutrement and the coordinating Notations No. 2 Designer Paper and Little Reminders No. 2. I love when everything coordinates like this! It makes it so easy to put a project together!

Pick a Petal Card

This is the third project we did at my Hostess Appreciation Party using the Pick a Petal set. This is such a versatile stamp set! We made the little ladybug by punching out a 3/4" circle after stamping the polka dot petal in real red and then cutting it in half to form the wings. We punched a 1/2" circle out of basic black to use for the head and body and the handheld 1/8' punch for the antennae. Notice that we also used the photo corner punch as an accent in the corners! I love punches!

This set has a matching classy brass template and on board blossoms chipboard that coordinate as well! I've seen some darling cards with dragonflies and larger ladybugs created from this set.

2, 5, 7, 10 Box

This is the second project that we made at my Hostess Appreciation Party. A 2, 5, 7, 10 Box. It's super easy to make! The directions are on the Splitcoast Stampers web site under Resources, Projects. We used the Happy Birthday jumbo wheel that coordinates with the Eat Cake set. The colors are certainly celery and groovy guava! We used the corner rounder with the gyuide removed to create the scalloped edge flap. We finished the project with some groovy guava double-stitched ribbon. It's all set to give away for someone special's birthday!

Gifts for my Hostess!

I made these notepad holders from dvd tins as my gift to my hostesses from the past year. You can purchase them from Effectuality. I used the Double-Line Doodles set and the Prints Designer Paper Series.

Here is one of them. I used the rose red and more mustard colors along with the scallop punch.

Here is what it looks like inside. I rolled up a bit of matching paper and stuck it down the barrel of the pen.

Baroque Motifs Card

I love the baroque motifs set! This is a card I CASEd (Copied And Stamped Exactly) from Stampin' Up!'s Stampin Success Magazine. I love the new In Colors colors of soft sky, purely pomegranate and groovy guava. I embossed the sentiment to make it stand out a little more. And for the row of mellow moss dots, I used the 1/8' hand held punch and then tweezers to carefully stick them in place! The final touch, a little bling with a new rhinestone brad. Whew! A little bit of extra work makes this card simply stunning!

Punch Book

This is a punch book that I created last year! I updated it with all the new punches that came out this year. All the pages are on a ring, so I can easily determine whether or not a stamp will fit in a punch.

Here is the large oval punch.

Here is the slit punch.

Here you can see how the scallop punch will work perfectly with the punch pals set!

Quick and Easy Birthday Cards

Here is the card that we made at my open house last month. Simple and quick using the new in color colors of soft sky, river rock and groovy guava. We used Double-Line Doodles and It's Your Birthday stamp sets as well.

Here's the same card with the colors switched around.

Faux Double-Stitched Ribbon!

I love the double-stitched ribbons! I was playing around with the new hostess set, In the Spotlight, and thought that the line of dots stamp stamped in white craft ink on the purely pomegranate looks similar to the double-stitched ribbon! What do you think?

Of course I still ordered some purely pomegranate double-stitched ribbon on my next order.

Recipe: wild wasabi & purely pomegrante cardstock; wild wasabi, purely pomegranate, so saffron, bashful blue classic ink, white craft ink, scallop punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, 1/2 circle punch; Hugs & Wishes stamp set; In the Spotlight stamp set.

What a fun box to make!

This is a box I created as a make-n-take for my New Catalog Open House last month. It's really simple to make! I used the baroque motifs set, blue bayou & chocolate chip cardstock, and wild wasabi, blue bayou, and chocolate chip ink.

I started with an 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 square of blue bayou and scored 2 3/4 from each edge. I stamped the large swirl on each side. Then I cut out each corner box and folded up the sides to create the box. I punched holes in each corner and tied the sides together with wild wasabi double stitched ribbon.

Then I stamped the square image off on scrap paper to get a lighter wild wasabi and then stamped it on 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 whisper white cardstock. Next, I stamped "cherish" in chocolate chip on top of the square image.

To finish off the box, I put some chocolate in a cello bag and tied it off with some more wild wasabi ribbon and a tag using the new scallop punch and the 1 3/8 circle punch. This is an easy fun project that you can make too!

  • Keep Christmas - pg 41
  • Punch Pals - pg 43
  • Whale Wishes - pg 61
  • Double-Line Doodles - pg 67
  • Wanted - pg 88
  • Looks Like Spring - pg 100 (look at the picture!)
  • Touch of Nature - pg 108
