Fan Card

My friend Donna showed us this fan card at our last meeting and gave us the materials to make one! She precut all the fan blades for us so all we had to do was stamp and put them together! It was super fun to make. She found one on SplitCoast by Michelle Laycock. I've been trying to find the directions and the template but the link no longer works. Does anyone know where I can get the template?

Here is what the back looks like. I put adhesive on the left edge of each blade so that the fan will close. I lined up the organdy ribbon in a straight line and then placed it down. I used the crop-a-dile to punch through all the blades in one punch and then used some ribbon to tie a pretty bow.

Sympathy Card

I made this card for a friend whose father passed away last week. Although I tried to add some ribbon, I decided to keep this card simple. I used brocade blue, so safron and always artichoke. I stamped my new En Francois background stamp with brocade blue and then used my watercolor crayons to color on the stamp, then spritzed it with some water to give it a watercolor effect. The only extra I did was add some dimensionals.

Birthday Invite

I can hardly believe my little baby is turning one! For her birthday party I wanted to make a special invitation. Since I painted her room certainly celery and decorated with lavender lace and lovely lilac accents, I used the Flowers for You dsp which has those colors and butterflies too! I added some glitter to the butterfly stamp that I used from Live Your Dream. I stamped the cake from Eat Cake and glittered the swirls. Have a great weekend!

Makeup Tin

For our monthly challenge project, Dannie gave us these tins that are usually used to put nuggets in with the caveat that we couldn't use it to put nuggets in! So I decided to make it a "On the Go Makeup Tin." I punched some holes in the top with the crop-a-dile and used some chocolate chip wise grosgrain to make a little handle. Then I put some Berry Bliss dsp to line the bottom and some chocolate chip poly-twill ribbon around the sides. I used the Love Birds rub ons on the top and added some on the go makeup! It's ready to put in my purse!

Black, White & River Rock

Our swap theme for our last demonstrator meeting was black, white, and any color of our choice. I decided to use river rock since it is retiring soon (boo hoo). I used the It's Beautiful Jumbo wheel for the background and stamped the flower from A Beautiful Thing in river rock. Then I used the black as an accent by layering the wheel cardstock, flower and ribbon with it and then stamping the sentiment in black as well.

Another Mother's Day Card

I made this card for my wonderful mother-in-law. Her favorite colors are green and yellow so I used barely banana and sage shadow with the beautiful Always stamp set to create her card. I embossed the birdie and cut him out and placed him on the branch.

For the inside I made a pop up card. It's pretty simple and is a fun surprise! You can create a pop up card by cutting a piece of cardstock to 5 1/4" x 8 1/4" and score in the middle at 4 1/8". Then measure 2 " from the top of the score line and 2" on either side of the score line and score from the top point into the point on the score line.

I added some dimensionals to the heart to make it pop out even more! I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Mother's Day Card

Yep, this pink card is for my Mother. I don't use a whole lot of pink (see why here), so this was a rare occasion for me to bust out the pretty in pink and regal rose cardstock and ribbon. I thought the Blossoms Abound would be a pretty set for a Mother's Day card. I don't have the new greeting set, so I used Fancy Flexible Phrases to stamp "Love you Mom" on the tag. I hope she likes it!

Berry Bliss Flap Card

As soon as I saw this tutorial, I knew that I wanted to try making a flap card! I decided to use my Berry Bliss paper and coordinating Boho Backgrounds and One of a Kind sets. I changed the dimensions of the card to 4 1/4" x 4 1/4". I started with close to cocoa cardstock and then followed the instructions in the tutorial.

I added a 4x4 square piece of pretty in pink on the inside and stamped the sentiment and added some punched out flowers from the boho blossom punch. This card was easy to put together and fun to make a card that's a little different! Go ahead and try making one!

Friendly Flowers Card

I love the new Friendly Flowers set! I just wish I had more time to play with it because I see so many possibilities and color combinations that I can do and use with this set! And you know how I love it when things coordinate, so I had to use the coordinating Lots of Dots jumbo wheel on the wild wasabi strip of cardstock. I slid a flower buckle from the new hodgepodge hardware kit on the chocolate chip poly-twill ribbon and punched out "friend" with the large oval punch. I'm really going to miss the wild wasabi and soft sky colors when they retire at the end of July, aren't you?

Candy Bar Wrap

I needed to make a quick thank you gift for a great friend that has been helping my pick up my oldest son from school, so I wrapped one of those huge Hershey's candy bars in her favorite color from the Berry Bliss dsp and tied some chocolate chip grosgrain around the bar. Then I used the thank you stamp from Thinking of You to create the scalloped piece.
